Korina Cross Cut Pen Blank 120 x 20 x 20 mm

Korina wood (Terminalia altissima) comes from the tropical regions of Africa, where it grows up to trees of very considerable size. The logs can grow up to 30 m length nearly without any defects but very seldom only the heartwood turns out to be dark brown to nearly black (Black korina). Really mythical status has this wood with guitar builders, Gibson produced some very rare and nowadays extremely expensive guitars in the late 50s from this wood. The wood is medium dense and hard and works very well, pens turned from this rare wood really do look very attractive!
