Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) trees grow in most parts of Europe, where they form really huge trees. Ash burl wood is swirly cream-coloured with burls and very attractive curly structure. Ash is a very hard and dense wood, yet quite flexible. Aged and mature trees develop a nice brown heartwood that resembles olive wood (Olive-ash) Ash burls grown in France like these are extremely fine and wild figured, showing unique gobbled and contorted grain structure!
