Bubinga, also called Kevazingo (Guibourtia tessmannii) comes from Cameroon, Gabon, Central and Equatorial West Africa. Bubinga has light red or violet colour with purple stripes and shows a slight silky gloss eveb unfinished. Fine grained and dense, hard and heavy. The wood takes a high lustrous finish. It is primarily used as a veneer for cabinetwork, furniture and panelling. Also used for knife handles and fancy goods. Weight. ca. 900 -1000 kg/m3.
