Wenge (Millettia laurentii) is a rather conspicuous, hard wood from Central Africa with an unmistakable structure and colour: it is dark brown to almost black with striking two-tone textures that strongly depend on the cutting direction. With its large and decorative pores, it has been a classic of furniture and veneer wood for years. Wenge is very heavy (approx. 1000 kg/m³) and very durable, it brightens up under strong sunlight!
