Madagascar rosewood (Dalbergia greveana) is mainly found in the evergreen humid rainforests of Western Madagascar. The appearance of this wood is a very close match to Brazilian rosewood and therefore very sought for and scarce. Due to its good tonal qualities Madagascar rosewood is much in demand for musical instruments, especially for acoustic guitars. These pieces come from a pre ban old stock that is registered with the authorities!
