Grenadill, African Blackwood Pen Blank 120 x 19 x 19 mm

Grenadill (Dalbergia melanoxylon) ist often mistakenly called Granadillo or Ebony, but belongs to the rosewood family. It comes mainly from Mozambique, Africa.  Colour is dark purplish brown with black streaks, giving a nearly black effect. It is an exceptionally dense, very hard and heavy wood, slightly oily with fine texture. It finishes exceptionally well but really it does not require any finish at all.
