Box elder, Ash-leaved maple (Acer negundo) is originally from North America.The tree often develops unique beautiful burls with beautiful wood, which is slightly brighter, more yellowish and lighter than the wood of sycamore maple. It is very shiny and has a clearly visible grain. Occasional burls form on the trunk of the tree, which are relatively soft, uniquely fine grained and very beautiful in appearance. The colors of this fine wood can range from very light yellow to brown to garish reddish, with these reddish streaks appearing only after infestation with the fungus Fusarium negundi. The wood of the ash-leaved maple is not hard, tools for processing, especially for turning should therefore be relly sharp. As is usual with almost all burl woods, defects such as bark inclusions, cavities, holes, gum pockets and small drying cracks can occur, which can be easily filled with superglue.
