Laburnum (Laburnum anagyroides), also called aubour, cytise, gouden Regen is a shrub most of us will know due to its rich, spectacular and gorgeous golden yellow blossoms, that cover nearly the complete tree in springtime. Sometimes laburnum grows up to real tree size, the stem has a very hard and dense heartwood with a unique golden to chocolate brown colour, showing a very attractive strong lustre when aging. Very attractive for fine turnings but scarce. As laburnums are poisonous in all their parts, always use a dustmask when working on the wood!
