Woodline Mallee (Eucalyptus cylindrocarpa) is a shrub to small multi-stem tree endemic to Western Australia. Woodline Mallee occurs on sandy areas and low dunes, mainly in bushes and forests on red clay sand or sandy soils. Its name derives from its ability to grow on the edge of forests. It occurs in the south-western goldfields and the south-eastern wheat belt region of Western Australia. Mallees often form burls, which are highly sought after by knifemakers and for turning because they form a particularly beautiful grain. The density of the wood found in these burls is very high (1200-1300 kg/m³). It is therefore very easy to polish and takes a high natural gloss.
