Brown illustrated dustwrapper is price-clipped, minor edge creasing with small tears to to top edge front and rear. Clean brown boards with gilt titles to the spine. Illustrated endpapers. Clean text throughout, well illustrated with line drawings and many black & white illustrations.
W. L. Goodman built up contacts with lots of museums and other authorities around the world. He wrote many articles, published this present book and "The History of Woodworking Tools", which established him as the leading authority in this field. Mr. Goodman has long been a member of the Institute of Handicraft teachers and was made an honorary member of the Early American Industries Association and Vice President of the British-American Rhykenological Society which is devoted to the study of the plane.
