Band Resaw and wide belt grinder!
We have acquired two new machines for the processing of our woods: a new, powerful Stenner log band resaw for the cutting of valuable woods and a wide belt sander. The large resawing Bandsaw can cut up wood with a minimum loss of 1.2 mm saw kerf to produce fine and thin wood thicknesses of our valuable wood, even saw cut veneers are no problem. With a stellite-tipped saw blade, veneers and boards up to 50 cm width can be cut, even from the hardest wood. The machines are still provisionally set up, but the first attempts at cutting show the performance of the heavy cast iron machine. A wide belt sanding machine, with which the boards and veneers can then be calibrated to an even thickness, is a reasonable supplement to the band saw. This enables us to calibrate even the thinnest veneers in such a way that the saw cut on the surfaces is removed and a perfect, even and glueable surface can be produced. A few photos of the wood that has been cut up experimentally show the results of the first work with these machines, and we will certainly be cutting more fine wood in the future, possibly also in the contract cutting process..... if our capacity allows it.
