This wood comes from the Australian York Gum or Yandee Trees (Eucalyptus loxophleba) growing in the Goldfield-region of western Australia. The burls have very fine, flawless eyes without resin pockets holes, that are almost always typical of eucalyptus burls. The high-contrast colour ranges from pale brown to dark brown, very clearly set off against the nicely vanilla yellow sapwood, the grain equals in fineness to Amboina. The dense and hard wood has nearly no pores, and can be easily turned and worked with sharp tools. Finely sanded surfaces become very smooth and can be polished to a beautiful shine. Tiny holes, as usual with all eucalyptus burls can easily be filled with a drop of superglue!-----------------------You will get the depicted blank.
