Redwood (Vavona) Burls (Sequoia sempervirens) come from the huge Californian coastal redwood trees, where the burls are often found at the base of the trunk. These trees are the largest and longest living plants on earth, they can reach up to 2000 years of age! The fine figured and beautiful curly wood, also called Vavona burl, is often gained from the stubs of trees that were cut down around 1900 and that remained preserved in the ground until nowadays: this wood is extremely durable and besides this it is a real beautiful rarity for woodworkers! You will get the depicted blank.
