Naranjo, Nargusta, Sombrerete, Amarillo, Bullywood, Palo Prieto, Roble Coral, Canxan Negro: this tree (Terminalia amazonia) is known and spread in a large distribution area in Central and South America under many popular names. Our wood comes from Guatemala. The sapwood is yellowish to orange, the heartwood light yellow-red, often with darker reddish or dark brown stripes, the color reminds of oranges (=Naranjo). The wood is hard and durable, of high quality and durability. It is used in the manufacture of furniture and cabinets, barrels and doors, floor coverings, in shipbuilding as well as in exterior and interior finishing.
Sample photos, actual pieces may differ. The wood may have been moistened for natural colours! After about 10 years of storage, dust has accumulated on the wax sealings, the pieces are unplaned, partially or completely sealed with wax, and may look quite unsightly. The wood quality is in any case very beautiful and comparable with the samples on the photos!
