Bigleaf maple, American or Oregon maple are names for the wood of the North American maple (Acer macrophyllum) that is growing along the Pacific Northwestern coast of America. These mighty trees get quite large and can develop logs up to 1.40 meters thick. The trees are fast growing and have remarkably large, delicate and finely ribbed leaves, which are typically measuring 35 x 25 cm.
