Chilean Laurel (Laurelia aromatica) is a large evergreen tree endemic to central Chilean rainforests, where it grows up to 30 meters jeight. The trees bright green leaves and the smooth, pale bark that cracks with age both contain highly aromatic oily ingredients, that made these parts of the tree worthy for the Incas. They used it for medicinal and spice purposes in a wide range. The medium hard and light weighted wood shows colours, that range from pale bright grey sapwood to silvery greenish heartwood, that may also reach darker silver greyish tones. Working on this wood is a real pleasure due to its highly pleasant smelling aromatic oil content. Stabilized piece, maximum penetrated by Plexiglas, giving the piece a very strong but flexible toughness. Easily to be worked with sharp tools.
