Black Locust Burl Folder Knife Scales 120 x 40 x 4 mm

Black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia) was originally native to the south eastern United States, but has been spread to nearly all European and Asian countries since the 16th century. The burls of black locust trees are very hard and durable, extremely fine figured yet seldom used for fine woodworking. Black locust wood has the lowest shrinkage, is extremely high durable, thus the timber may be safely used for all external purposes without any chemical preservatives, it is hard, highly flexible and dense and shows a unique yellowish-green colour and fine grain texture. Burls from black locust trees have the finest figured and densest wood from all burls.
