Zebrawood (Microberlinia brazzavillensis) is also called zingana, this tree grows in West African forests of Cameroon and Gaboon. The trees reach up to 20 m height and appr. 1 m diameter, producing long and straight logs of beautiful and unique texture. The wood has a bright golden yellow heartwood with straight parallel streaks of dark brown to nearly black colour. The dark and light bands give a zebra stripe look that accounts for the name, the wood can be recognized one among hundreds of different species!
