Small flaws such as bark inclusions, loose pinsticks, whirls, hairline cracks, blemishes and the like are totally common with most burl wood due to swirling wood fibers causing high stress in the grain. These flaws can be easily and quickly reduced during processing with highly fluid super glue and, if necessary, some dark sawdust.
