Cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa, D. tucurensis) is a member of the Rosewood family and comes from Mexico. One of the most colourful woods available, it varies from red to black, dark brown to gold and yellow. It is very hard and dense, finishes beautifully and is very durable. Cocobolo is quite rare, so only very little comes to the world's market. Perfect for attractive knife handles and other fine applications, turnings and musical instruments!
