The Lebanon cedar (Cedrus libani) is probably one of the most legendary, oldest and most frequently mentioned trees of mankind, only in the Bible this tree is called -zigfach. Its outstanding importance in ancient times is based on its outstanding properties as a building material for ships, houses, furniture and temples, as well as on the very pleasant scent accompanying this wood, which is based on aromatic oils as ingredients. The natural distribution area of Lebanon cedars is along the Turkish Mediterranean coast as far as Lebanon and western Syria, but admired as a park tree because of its uniquely beautiful silhouette, the cedar reaches numerous locations in Western Europe, there are large stocks in France, even in Germany and Great Britain there are stately specimens. The genuine cedar wood smells very pleasantly aromatic when freshly cut, it is light and firm and has been famous for its durability for thousands of years. King Solomon's temple in Jerusalem was built mainly of cedar wood, his fame has survived for thousands of years.
