Bubinga, aka Kevazingo (Guibourtia tessmannii) comes from Cameroon, Gabon, Central and Equatorial West Africa. Bubinga is of light red to violet colour with purple stripes and shows unfinished a deep red silky gloss. The wood is very dense, fine grained, heavy and hard, it takes a high lustrous finish. Primarily used as veneer for cabinetwork, furniture and panelling, it is also used for high end cabinet building. Also used for knife handles and fancy goods. Weight. ca. 800 -1000 kg/m3.
