Yellowheart, Pau Amarello (Euxylophora paraensis) is said to show the most intensively yellow colour wood can have. It is very similar to European boxwood and is used as a substitute for this, not having the same high density and hardness than genuine boxwood. Pau Amarello works extremely well and is a great wood for turners. It can show very interesting fine grain and figure. Its bright yellow colour gives it great appeal for fine works in wood and makes it a very interesting wood for combinations with other dark wood, try it as a contrasting wood in combination to ebony: simply beautiful!
