Since 22.12.2011 all states part of the CITES-Contract are obliged to follow extended restrictions concerning the trade of endangered wood-species such as Ebony from Madagascar, Cocobolo, Honduran Mahogany, Lignum vitae and other restricted materials such as ivory.
 
If you order from our shop and want shipping to a non-EU state, such as Switzerland, you as the buyer and importer are solely responsible for following the law concerning the import of protected wood species (including protected plant and animal parts) in your country. An import license can only be given by your national authorities.

Upon non-observance, border customs - who is checking your import - might seize part of your parcel. Such procedures are always connected to troubles and costs for you, the importer.
 
Due to these laws, we advise our Swiss customers to not order any Cites protected wood species from us. Currently (Beginning 2012), those are Ebony, Cocobolo, Guaiacum (Lignum vitae) and Honduran Mahogany. Unfortunately, we cannot offer you any assistance concerning the import of these woods into Switzerland or other non EU-member states.. Within EU states the trade of these woods is possible without any restrictions. The export to Switzerland and other Non-EU-Countries constitutes an exceptional case, whose bureaucratic requirements are not to be fulfilled by us and are not part of our area of activity.
