At the moment, on this site you will find that we have developed a special preference for specially figured wood. We have always preferred the beauty of irregular grain patterns: structures like fiddleback, curly, quilted, spotted, crotch or even burl when found in wood can be really unique when carefully selected and polished. These things remain nature's caprices and therefore are sometimes only found one among thousands. Real precious period furniture is mostly made of real excellent wood, and that is hard to find nowadays....That is where we come in!
Our expert knowledge on wood generates from more than 25 years experience in restoring fine antique furniture and trading those rare and fine woods and sawn veneers to museums, conservators, fine art collectors and builders of musical instruments. We have a lot of contact with real rare and fine woods from all over the world, and some that are hard to find or out of trade.
We am not a supplier of long and straight boards of European cherry, maple, oak or meranti, massaranduba or teak. We’re sorry, we don't have that stuff, because every well assorted timber trade can supply this. Should you however be looking for walnut root or burl, curly maple, laburnum, boxwood, holly or true caribbean mahogany, West Indian satinwood, fine ebony or perfectly figured snakewood: you're are at the right place.
