Kamagong Scales 120 x 40 x 10 mm

Kamagong (Camagon) wood (Diospyros blancoi, D. mindanaensis) comes from the Philippines, where the member of the ebony family grows up to tall trees reaching ca. 30 m. The tree is known and cultivated for its delicious and tasty red fruits (Mabolo, velvet apple) covered by a furry skin, containing a soft, creamy, pink flesh with a taste and aroma comparable to fruit cream cheese. The trees produce a well-sought very hard, heavy and durable wood, that reminds of Makassar wood from Indonesia, but is different in grain pattern and colour. This wood is very much appreciated for its decorative qualities, furniture, decorative arts, guitars and also fighting sticks are made from this wood.
